Will the upper classes always be apathetic to the conditions of the lower classes? Is it really human nature?
Will the upper classes always be apathetic to the conditions of the lower class? Is it human nature or is it simply the natural divisions that occur as people group together by economic class in neighborhoods, etc. Also most politicians seem apathetic, but that is more by their job.

- I don't think that politicians are apathetic to the lower class at all. At least not where I live. In fact, I would say that a very large percentage of the people in my state are either on welfare and supplementing that income with the sale of drugs, or immigrants who are thankful that they can live off the government considering the circumstances they left behind in their own poor, impoverished, country. I know that everywhere I turn I hear of clothing drives, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Donation sites for cell phones, cars, building supplies, you name it. People are always trying to help the poor. Why do you think everyone in third world countries wants to come to America?
- yeah, here in my country graft and corruption is overwhelming... i will understand is lower class man steals, its because he need it very much... but here in the Philippines the upper classes or the educated politicians are the one who's depleting our resources...
- It is very hard to comprehend pain, if you don't go through the same. Perhaps, it is an imperfection in the otherwise exalted creation, the Human. Politicians, they seem, they are not. Otherwise, the modern statecraft would come to standstill.
- a survey has been done concerning this issue. It was determined that the wealthy are more simpathetic to the conditions of the lower class. it also found they were less willing to act on it as would a lower class.
- Human nature, according to Christianity, is to be always self-centered. Pretty much, that is the way most people are: they do things for their own self-fulfillment (even getting married, having kids, working, etc). If the upper class is to be true to human nature as the Bible sees it, then they will always be apathetic to the conditions of the lower class because unless it benefits themselves, there is no reason to help improve those conditions.
